I’m having a slight dilema, my belly is expanding by the day and the belly band I have been wearing over my jeans is getting a little uncomfortable. I still don’t quite fit into maternity clothes so I’ve been wearing lots of dresses and yoga pants, but I still want to look stylish! I don’t want to spend a fortune on maternity clothes that I’m only going to wear for a few more months. So mommies, what are your favorite maternity wardrobe essentials? Did you go up a couple of sizes in your regular clothes so you could wear it post baby? What are the best places to shop? More importantly, did you sacrifice fashion for comfort? Let’s talk about this fashion crisis!

I was able to wear my belly band (along with my “fat jeans” till I was able to make the switch over. My favorite jeans I bought (and really inexpensive because I didn’t want to shell over a ton) was similar to this pair from Old Navy (http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=79558&vid=1&pid=895870). It was great because I bought a few sizes and there was free shipping back on the ones that didn’t fit (I ended up buying 1 size below my regular denim size to have them be tight fitted). I wore them as long as possible. I loved form-fitting clothes vs dresses. I felt I looked more “cute pregnant” than “frumpy pregnant.”

Yes! That is exactly what I mean…cute vs. frumpy. Old Navy here I come! And that’s great that they offer free shipping since you have to try them all on. I’ve already spent a ton on shipping costs for jeans I’ve had to pay to return

I completely agree on not wanting to spend a fortune on maternity clothes, I would recommended a couple of pairs of stylish maternity jeans. When I was expecting I wore pea in the pod and true religion, I usually wear true religion so I wanted to still free the same just with a belly
I believe I started wearing maternity jeans as early as 4months the jeans are made for your skinny body with the belly area. So you might want to try some on. As far as shirt I wore regular clothes I have always been a small/medium I wore a large by the time I was done just for comfort because at the end of the pregnancy nothing feels comfortable, and you just want your body back.
