I had no idea that I was going to end up in labor that Saturday night as I had been having contractions for about a week! Eddie and I got ready and took our time to get to the hospital. We thought we were just going in for a check up… little did we know at the time that my water was going to break while we walked around at the hospital as soon as we got there! Good times! I was in labor all of Saturday night/morning and finally the baby was born on Sunday morning. More about that later.

He was a couple of days early so I’m 39 weeks in the photo above.

I also posted this photo to my instagram feed.

I’m only packing some basic things for myself {robe, slippers, socks, care products, toiletries, etc.) so I’ll share the fun things that I’m packing for the baby

• Mini Champagne Bottles: I plan on surprising my husband with a toast…even if it’s just a sip.
• Baseballs: I plan on getting the baby’s handprint on the baseball for a special keepsake for my husband. I’m packing several in case I have to try a few times. I’m hoping that all goes according to plan  ;)

So these are the items I’m starting out with, which will probably change many times as we go! Notice that there aren’t even any diapers! haha.

The nursery is finally complete and I have lots of baby product reviews to share so stay tuned for all of that as we try out the new products!

We’re down to 1 week! We’re so close to meeting each other. I can’t believe it! I just want you to know that we are ready for you. We’re so excited and full of joy counting down the days for your arrival. I’m going to smother you with lots of hugs and kisses so I hope your ready for that little guy!

We hope this will be your name We tried a few others, but they didn’t work. This one stuck! We’re 36 weeks and we’re ready to go! You’ve come such a long way! You’ve finally flipped into the head down position and your kicks are getting pretty intense! It feels like you’re trying to find the nearest exit At our 36 week check up, our doctor said that you could possibly be here in just 2 more weeks! That has sent your mommy into panic mode because she wasn’t expecting you for another 4. It’s also given me anxiety because I cannot wait to see your sweet little face. Please just be patient with us while we figure you out See you soon!

Anyway, it was so hard to take photos and be the guest of honor at the same time, but here are a few photos I was able to snap along the way! Everything was so cute and perfectly crafted! I think my sister did a fantastic job!

The baby shower theme revolved around hot air balloons. I LOVE the centerpieces my sister made. She even put little lambs in the baskets surrounded by cotton ball clouds!

I love how the turquoise place settings were set up with doilies as place mats on the grey satin linens! At each place setting, there was a little tea bag that stated “a baby is brewing”. It was so sweet! I also stashed a couple of sweets from the sweets table!

The sweets table was incredible! My sister baked and decorated the kite cake and cookies! There were also macarons, lollies, candies & cupcakes! She even designed the banners. What more can a girl ask for?! We LOVE our dessert tables

Here we are, the parents-to-be! I also took a few photos with both of my sisters! Aunties are the best!

When the invitations were sent out, it was requested that each guest bring a book for the baby and a pack of diapers to be entered into a couple of raffles and for a chance to win a prize.

Well, my friends take their raffles very seriously because we ended up with an entire library full of amazing baby books and a diaper fort! The library is one of my favorite details in the nursery and I know baby Matteo is going to love it! I’m already reading the books to him.

And, of course, the winners! There were actually quite a few winners since we played a lot of fun baby shower games!

The smore’s baby shower favors our guests received were so sweet!

Once we got home from the shower, I realized our guests filled out advice cards. I loved reading every single one! We are in nesting mode and loved all of the baby gifts baby Matteo received! Thank you everyone for being a part of this special milestone in our lives. We are so blessed.

Also, thank you to all of my family members that pitched in and helped my sister out with food, crafting and cleaning, etc. I know parties are a lot of work so THANK YOU for all of your help! It was a true labor of love.
